Andy Yan joined SAIF in October 2001 and heads SAIF as the Managing Partner. Prior to joining SAIF, Mr. Yan was Managing Director & Head of Hong Kong Office of Emerging Markets Partnership which is the Principal Advisor to AIG Asian Infrastructure Funds. He has held the position of Director for Strategic Planning & Business Development at Sprint International Corporation. His career also spans his work as an Economist with The World Bank - Policy, Planning, and Research Division and he was a Research Fellow at the Hudson Institute Washington, D.C. as well as a Research Fellow at the State Commission for Economic Restructuring of the State Council of China. He has also worked as Chief Engineer with Jianghuai Airplane Corporation.
Mr. Yan graduated in Engineering from Nanjing Aeronautic Institute. He has done Master of Arts in Sociology & Economics from Peking University. He also holds a Master of Arts in International Political Economy from the Princeton University.

· Various senior IC engineering/management roles at leading tech companies in the Silicon Valley: Siara Networks, Redback Networks, 8x8 Systems, Acuson, etc.
Education
· Mr. Tang received a BS in Physics from Beijing University and a MS EECS from UC Berkeley.
· Mr. Tang was a bronze medalist of Team China at the 18th International Physics Olympiad.
